This name is of Arabic origin. Assyrian traditions have it that Noah's Ark came to rest on that place. Pilgrimages would take place there in the old days. This mount is close to the ancient country of Urartu, but it is different from Mount Ararat, traditionally accepted as the Ark's resting place
Nom d'origine arabe. Les traditions assyriennes rapportent que c'est à cet endroit que s'est posé l'Arche de Noé. On y faisait des pèlerinages autrefois. Cet endroit est proche de l'ancien pays d'Urartu , mais est différent du mont Ararat communément reconnu pour être ce lieu
