JAAS, 2000, Vol14, no. 1 page 42; Sokoloff ; Tatian's most influential work is the Diatessaron / ܕܝܵܐܛܸܣܲܪܘܿܢ, a Biblical harmony of the four gospels that became the standard text of the four gospels in the Syriac-speaking churches until the 5th-century, when it eventually gave way to the four separate gospels in the Peshitta / ܦܫܝܼܛܬܵܐ. "Tadtyana", also "Tidtaya", or Latinised to "Tatian" or "Titian", or Hellenised to "Tatyanous", is a pure classical Syriac word meaning ܒܠܵܩܵܐ or ܒܲܠܩܵܐ, that is, "piebald" or "white". ܛܵܛܝܵܢ ,ܠܦܘܿܬ ܝܵܘܢܵܝ̈ܐ "ܛܸܛܝܵܢܘܿܣ", ܒܐܵܬܘܿܪܵܝܵܐ ܛܸܛܝܵܢܵܐ ܝܵܢ ܛܸܛܵܝܵܐ ܗܕ: ܒܲܠܩܵܐ, ܐܵܬܘܿܪܵܝܵܐ ܝܠܸܗ ܠܸܫܵܢܵܐܝܼܬ ܘܣܘܼܟܵܠܐܝܼܬ : "Tatian, according to the Greeks "Tatyanous" - in Syriac "Tidtyana" or "Tidtaya", that is "piebald" - is pure Assyrian linguistically and in its meaning." Throughout history one finds dozens of examples of this Hellenisation of pure Assyrian names

ܛܵܛܝܵܢ ,ܠܦܘܿܬ ܝܵܘܢܵܝ̈ܐ "ܛܸܛܝܵܢܘܿܣ", ܒܐܵܬܘܿܪܵܝܵܐ ܛܸܛܝܵܢܵܐ ܝܵܢ ܛܸܛܵܝܵܐ ܗܕ: ܒܲܠܩܵܐ, ܐܵܬܘܿܪܵܝܵܐ ܝܠܸܗ ܠܸܫܵܢܵܐܝܼܬ ܘܣܘܼܟܵܠܐܝܼܬ : "Tatian, according to the Greeks "Tatyanous" d'après les grecs , "Tidtyana" ou "Tidtaya" en syriaque, c'est à dire "pie / de couleur blanche" - est linguistiquement purement assyrien linguistically ainsi que dans son acception." Nous trouvons tout au long de l'Histoire des dizaines d'exemples de noms assyriens héllenisés
