Caution ! The word "Akkadian" could very well spring from a misreading or misinterpretation ... a confusion between the ancient letters "resh" and "kop" from one part and the ancient letters "kop" and "dalat" on the other part, very similar to one another. The Biblical name of the city of Akkad could very well be read "Arak" or "Erekh" ... ܐܲܪܵܟ for ܐܲܟܵܕ. Note the similitude with the name "Iraq"

Attention ! Le mot "akkadien" pourrait être issu d'une erreur d'interprétation ... d'une confusion entre les anciennes lettres "resh" et "kop" d'une part et les anciennes lettres "kop" et "dalat" d'autre part, fort ressemblantes entre elles. Le nom biblique de la ville d' Akkad pourrait très bien être "Arak" ou "Erech" ... ܐܲܪܵܟ pour ܐܲܟܵܕ. Noter la similitude avec le nom "Irak"
