Etymologically this name means in Hebrew "Arpa the Chaldean" Arpa Kesed. Syriac has not retained the same roots KSD as Hebrew, but rather the roots KLD from Akkadian to designate the word "Chaldean" see ܟܲܠܕܵܝܵܐ.
